Artistic since childhood, joy has been creating art her entire life.
at the age of 8 her parents enrolled her in oil painting classes in the back of gloyer's pharmacy in tomball, tx. as a teen she spent summers taking drawing, painting, and pottery classes at local community colleges. she briefly studied architectural engineering at the university of texas quickly realizing that was more math than it was art!
eventually she found her passion for painting large scale and launched scribbles murals & decorative painting in 2001.
her initial focus was children's rooms but gradually she expanded her body of work to all subject matter and added decorative finishes due to demand.
she and her husband live North of Houston and have 2 sons in college: (an aspiring architect and an aspiring professional baseball player.)
